Iran: A Nation Of Bloggers (Vancouver Film School via Information Aesthetics)

Information Aesthetics recently highlighted a short YouTube film by the Vancouver Film School titled Iran: A Nation Of Bloggers. I am not sure where they got their facts but even if they are off by half, the film suggests a changing political dynamic in Iran. I know, I know, we have heard it all before but it reminds me a bit of the importance of the fax machine during perestroika...

NPR has aired a series of in -country reports that suggests roughly the same dynamics. It's been an interesting insight into what may be the more mainstream culture of Iran.

From a design perspective, that's a really well done trailer. I don't know much about Iranian blogs, except that they are pretty common, but there is a youth movement there becoming very disillusioned with the regime. It'll be interesting to see if the fallout of the oil market produces any lasting change.
